Americans suffer from a desperate need to believe in the inherent goodness of the American electorate--the idea that a voter in 2024--after nearly a decade of unfiltered, widely broadcast, deeply fascist rhetoric from Donald Trump--was simply "tricked" by a Facebook algorithm or a Fox News segment.

Project 2025 was always the White Demographic Project -- which John Roberts gave trump free reign to implement. Trump was the useful idiot of America too, not just of Putin. the only vehicle that could deliver this abject racism and so Roberts and the like held their noses and gave him carte blanche
Thank you for this insightful thread. I knew this was generally what it was but couldn't express it nearly as well. This helped me clarify what the reality is. You are indeed correct on how many want to give MAGA an "out" but they knew what they were doing. They're not stupid as much as they're mean
Americans have less excuse than Germans who joined the Nazis: Nazism was a new phenomenon, while for Americans, it's a fairly recent history lesson. And after Trump1, and the insurrection, there was no doubt that Trump2 would be worse, he was angrier, even more resentful and openly promised revenge.

I’m glad that there are a lot fewer leftists now that still think these people are reachable because we wasted a lot of energy on them but it sucks that that had to come at the cost of so many people learning awful things about their families, friends and neighbors. But then, they made their choice.
The information deficit model for voter/consumer behaviour was found wanting decades ago when it came to climate change. Facts do not often play a major role in people's motivations.
It's the individualism their parents groomed into them. This was a very long time in the making. They're desperate for their own survival they're not gaf about everyones ability to survive. Regardless our Republic is already ☠️. Center your msg to oppressive legislation. bsky.app/profile/vlf7...
🔥🗽🔥SoCal Redhead🔥🗽🔥Spread & save this. It's literally how we fix the system. We've all just been a part of the longest social science experiment to stop history from repeating. Oppression is why it repeats. How can we learn as long as education remains a privilege and varies?
The only moral question involved in evaluating whether an adversarial action should be taken against a Republican is whether it will positively advance leftist causes. There's plenty of stuff that feels right at the time, but has counterproductive ramifications...but because Reps deserve better? Nah
And whatever the fuck is happening here y’all bsky.app/profile/zete...
ZeteoIf you’ve criticized a corporation, protested ICE, or publicly condemned Trump’s Iran war, your posts could be monitored and passed to the FBI. Leaked emails show Trump’s admin is training police to help it target left-wing dissent. Read Dan Boguslaw’s latest: zeteo.com/p/trump-fbi-...
I am kind of worried about data that only exists in volatile media, like failing hard drives. I'm glad the internet archive exists, but it seems vulnerable. I go to: www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/ Every once in awhile to verify SOMEONE is backing stuff up. #DataHoarder
Yes--but the irony is that most of those voters never were "at the top of it" nor will they EVER be. They just thought they were entitled to it, with the political rhetoric reinforcing that belief, while the actual people on top robbed them again and again and ensured they would NEVER be at the top.
The reality is that Harris and the Democrats didn’t get enough votes. The biggest single reason why is because they allowed the other team to suppress those votes. The other is that almost no one who voted for them voted *for* them. Everyone who voted for them voted *against Trump.* Bad plan.
