As a former troop this has always been clear. It was clearest here: Obama sent me to Afghanistan in the 2010s. In 2020, Trump negotiated with the Taliban directly to just hand the country back to them after 20 years of war. Biden followed Trump’s lead & gave every Afghan back to the Taliban.

Clarifying to see how a lot of “respect the troops” was always BS. They never meant it, never thought taking on risk for national service was honorable, just saw people serving the country as props, and “respect the troops” as a selective way to try to silence disagreement over foreign policy.

People seem to think the Constitution came down from on high carved into stone tablets or something. It wasn’t even their first try. It was their second attempt. They learned from the mistakes of the Articles & tried to fix some of them. That resulted in the Constitution. Of course we can do that!

Yeah agreed. The optimistic framing is just that we are equally-well-suited to replacing the Constitution with something better as the Founders were to replace the Articles with the Constitution. We’re all humans. And we have the benefit of learning from their mistakes. We can do it. I know it.

When he tried to undo his lie after the results of it became so deadly, it was too late. People were able to say “hey you said Thing A in March and then totally turned around and said Not Thing A in May. Which one is right?” Fauci started that. He was wrong from the jump to lie to protect docs.

Oh my god Dr. Fauci is no hero. He created the anti-masking thing all on his own. Him. Fauci. He did that. He told Americans that they didn’t need masks to protect themselves from COVID. He did this because hospitals hadn’t stockpiled any PPE & were running out because PPE companies hadn’t either.
