According to Donald Trump's eulogy of Lindsay Graham, "There never was a war that he did not like." That is a hell of a legacy. Sen. Graham was "a late riser" (for people older than 25 years old, that usual means, "always nursing a hangover"). An awful man, who lived in misery & spread it.

Trump launched a war with Iran without congressional authorization, and support has stayed under 40 percent the entire time. Swing state voters are now calling it absolutely stupid. Sustained unpopularity like that for an ongoing war is rare, and it's a warning sign for midterms.

We should amend the LA City Charter so that mayors & other Citywide electeds only get one year terms. Campaign season tends to be the only time we get brave shows of resolve on behalf of poor & brown & black Angelenos.
