I may be deluded, but I believe that it's likely that I (who currently has no significant financial assets) will end my life with a greater financial net worth than Elon Musk. I also believe that it's far more likely that when I will die, I'll pass with my honor intact & surrounded by loved ones.

As others have noted (maybe even downthread) the permanent block is crucial for people who have stalkers and are under threat of violence. Every system has advantages and disadvantages. The question is who bears the brunt of the disadvantages. I won't ask domestic violence survivors to bear it.

A high school classmate (~57 years) has a profoundly autistic son, who lives in a group home & has been hospitalized frequently for pulmonary issues. She’s convinced her son’s autism was caused by childhood vaccines. I do not begrudge her her delusion. I’m very angry at grifters who prey on her.
