It was already unusable and inaccurate, bolstered by paid incorrect crowdsourced slop sources. Now, it’ll still be that way but in a confident and conversational way.

I stopped creating any new documents in Google Docs and moved to Ellipsus. When I turned off the AI options in my Gmail, it stopped filtering out spam, and my inbox is loaded with it since. Switched my search to DuckDuckGo. Not looking back.

It's just terrible. Once in a while I can trick Gemini into giving me great information with a link, but the flood of chatbot text, videos, and social media posts is overwhelming

The search has already gotten so bad. It's completely clogged up with AI articles. It's extra difficult to find songs using vague keywords or partial lyrics, it used to be easy

What I want is to turn off all AI in all of my Web searches. Spare me all AI slop. Always.

I think they mean to say further reduce traffic to Google search. After their recent lobbying efforts along with Apple, Amazon, and Coinbase to enact age verification mandates for operating systems, I'm switching my default search to Bing.

Duckduckgo search/browser uses Bing and limits its suggested links to one per page. Now Chrome pads both top and bottom with multiple suggestions. Had a dystopic thought that this could be an attempt by Alphabet to train the masses as agentic AI coders. It got weirder, so I'll stop.
