I think they mean to say further reduce traffic to Google search. After their recent lobbying efforts along with Apple, Amazon, and Coinbase to enact age verification mandates for operating systems, I'm switching my default search to Bing.

I've never been a fan of Microsoft but at least they're not bankrolling ID verification laws like Meta, Google, Amazon, Apple and others are. And it makes sense considering Microsoft sells operating systems and software suites, so they're not as dependent on revinue from shady databrokers.

No, they obtain your data directly. As for AI, they stuck it in Notepad, ffs. Don't fool yourself that the investors of openAI are not there for the same reason.

Maybe give DuckDuckGo a shot as well. I've been using it for the past year or so, cuz Google got way worse over time and it's really been a refreshing experience.
