I would put a low estimate of 90% of internet users not noticing that Google has turned to shit, not knowing that there are alternatives, not knowing how to use those alternatives and get them to be the default, or not being bothered. (1/2)
Google couldn't care less about a handful of web-savvy people boycotting them, because the sheeple are *vastly* more numerous and are far more lucrative for them than people who understand how the internet works. Not to mention the inertia of corporate networks taking decades to change. (2/2)
I'm reading the techcrunch article and it says google claims a billion are using all the other new stuff and 900 million using chatgpt. Sounds like google's very happy with their numbers.
