I will say of all the World Cup venues I went to in this tournament this was the best for fans. You park at the American Dream mall parking lot and and go over a covered bridge to the stadium. At the stadium you enter through the Fan fest and all the volunteers and police were very helpful.

Oh I get that but as a guy going to watch the game it was done right. The parking lot has been converted into the Fan Zone. It’s the only stadium I went to (Boston, Dallas and Philly being the others) where the Fan Zone was integrated. Plus getting in and out was a piece of cake.

As much as I hate the public funding thats gone to them, we have all the pro sports and all in downtown stadium in Minneapolis (Wolves, Vikings, Twins, Lynx) and St Paul (Wild) and between both and on rail line is MN United and their stadium.

New Zealand's national rugby stadium is in 1920s Auckland, what Americans would call "streetcar suburbia". It has three major bus corridors and a rail connection. On match/concert days the streets come along and the local restaurants have bumper revenues. Urban stadiums are great.

Only 20 mins by car prior to game start. Post game could be several hours. Buffalo doesn't really have public transportation other than a rapid bus system and a straight line metrorail. The draw of the Buffalo Bills, as a fan, has been the tailgating. You don't get that if they play in the city.

There are just no pedestrian paths. The only way to reach it is via highways on which it's illegal to walk, because doing so is incredibly dangerous. Most of this part of NJ is designed primarily for cars coming and going to NYC.

It's the same as anywhere else in town and this neighbourhood is actually one of the more affluent in town. I don't see how a stadium might affect that (I used to live next to one, though not this one), but I'm guessing you must have some terrible sports fans at home.

Trees barely grow in the Meadowlands. Really bleak area overall - they turned a pretty unique ecosystem into a mess of concrete, highways, and industrial facilities. Terrible introduction to both New York and New Jersey for those visiting.

Ernst-Happel-Stadion, Vienna. Basically no parking but it's got a massive U-Bahn station with an extra platform and direct links to the depot which with the crowd control in place can get 900 people onto a train every 2 minutes or so after major events. Want to drive? Use the park&ride system.

In an ideal world it's plopped down along University Avenue and the Green Line. (Context: the Green Line also serves CHS Field, Huntington Bank Stadium, US Bank Stadium, and Target Field, so literally all the stadia.) But why there? The simple version is because that's what they could afford.

IIRC, it's a different field for World Cup. FIFA requires grass playing fields so a bunch of stadiums had to put in grass before the tournament.
