The thing that keeps getting me about all the pieces fretting about Bluesky being too insular is that the argument seems to be that those of us who are most likely to be abused by the right (BIPOC people, trans people, queer people, etc) must put up with being abused for the sake of public discourse

And, I keep thinking about the fact that vile political views are not really diverse. It’s not an echo chamber in here or among my friends I see in person. We all have different types of jobs and interests that keep a wide range of conversations going for way longer than some false political binary.

There is a segment of the population who never: -had any real impositions -learned that you aren't entitled to someone's time -learned that just because you say it doesn't make it worthy of consideration -been taught to mind their own fucking business And they get Big Mad when told any of it now.
Yeah, they come up with whatever excuses they can - both to continue abusing people, and to continue adding to the muskrat's wealth. Fuck 'em. Life is too sweet to pay any mind to such poison.
