I think that's legitimately fair. Art has a place in this world and it is work. Most people aren't artists and should help at the food bank so that artists can continue to art.

Some energy is specialized. It's not a homogenous pool you can spend to do anything. Sometimes you can choose to do dishes or take trash out, sure. But often you can't choose to make art or go somewhere with a lot of people, these are not exchangeable energies.
