This is definitely a monkeys paw situation. Gosling as Ghost rider is great. Levy is one of the most bland sauceless directors out there. I enjoyed Deadpool & Wolverine in spite of his grey wallpaper direction.

This is a double edged sword situation because like I think Ryan Gosling is a good actor but Shawn Levy has just such a meh directing style that I don't think it would really work all that well because Levy would make it so fucking generic that even Gosling can't salvage it at that point anymore.
