Why do Japanese TCGs always number shit in the hundreds or thousands, but keep everything divisible by ten or one hundred? Is it just like some kind of inflationary aesthetic? Like, Pokemon TCG. 80HP is really 8HP because everything is divisible by ten. Maybe I just err on the side of simplicity

If we just blithely wag our fingers and scold people that stuff is racist, that's just going to make them defensive and less likely to adapt to a changing world. That's like how a lot of *waves arms frantically at everything* feels like it's falling to shit.

I think as we move forward, absolutely, we should be cognizant of what we say and their problematic historical meanings. But, at the same time, I think intention matters. 98% of the average public doesn't even fathom any of this stuff could be remotely racist.

There are a ton of phrases used today that have completely lost their historical meanings as they've entered common vernacular, for better or worse. "Peanut Gallery." "Gypped."

Consider this - the word "idiot" used be a technical term standing for someone who had a severe mental disability. It's colloquial use entered common language in the exact same context we used "r*tarded", which nowadays is considered a slur. Yet no one bats an eye at "idiot".
