I think the entire "Republican" party is jealous of Mamdani. But they could choose to be patriotic, too, and work with the others who want to serve the people.

He’s a good guy to share with children.

Doesn't tell the kid to be quiet. Doesn't let it bother him. Waits for the kid to finish making noises (and allows the kid to make more noises too!) and then incorporates it into his address. If only all politicians could show this level of basic humanity.

A guy who can play along with children while continuing the thread of his remarks. Healthy masculinity. Also, improv classes build extremely practical workplace skills.

This is an endearing reaction to a kid being silly, but also I want to acknowledge that Zohran is displaying more empathy towards this random child than frankly a lot of politicians right now seem willing to show for anyone. He indicated an understanding of their emotions and related it to his life.

Imagine if a child did that during a Rump speech. Probably end up in a concentration camp

Gives me Obama vibes. A good man who cares about kids and can find humor in the daily life is politics, while working to make people lives better. I'm here for it. Other administrations right now use kids as props and would scold them for making a noise on TV or send them to a detention camp.

As a person who worked with kids and families, I know that all homes are not safe for children. And some home daycares are not safe or healthy. Care and supervision is important.

Reminds me of one Sunday during mass when a two year-old toddler got away from his mom, running up to the altar where the priest was giving his sermon. Instead of causing a commotion, the young priest picked up the toddler in his arms and went on with his sermon like nothing happened.
