Every person this administration wrongly deported should be granted asylum and a path to citizenship. Won’t even begin to right wrongs like this. But it’s a place to start.
Gillian BrockellPeople who are suddenly deported to countries they haven’t been to for years — or, in some cases, have NEVER been to — are incredibly vulnerable. We are going to be reading stories like this for years. God have mercy on their three little girls.

If you're going to work with one, you know your version is going to piss some people off. Even a *sedate* famous epic inflames some of its audience.

I just posted about The Reformatory by Tananarive Due @tananarivedue.bsky.social As much as I love that story, I didn't love the idea that real events inspired it. Creating situations that lead to the next Reformatory novel is no way to promote family values. Unless your family's fuckin insane.

JoeyI always point out it's a trifecta of Patriarchy, Classism, and White Supremacy. Most people will argue that it's just about class with me. Really, it's all just about power dynamics, and proximity to said power. Rich white men still hold the most power in this country.
