In accordance with ancient tradition, our next Prime Minister is announced to the nation while standing between a furry and a man with a bin on his head.

I feel slightly awkward because gatekeeping fursuit quality is normally something I disapprove of. But in this case I’m reasonably sure that the guy with the r/badtaxidermy head, ill-fitting bodysuit and no paws is not actually a furry 😁

Ответ для Buntline

He's a serial wildlife campaigner candidate around the UK. His gannet costume in the Scottish Parliament elections was artistic and striking looking, so this fox feels a bit half-arsed by comparison.

A tradition first started when Edmund Blackadder won Dunny-on-the-Wold by a similar majority.

Ответ для Croohur

Now, now, Baldrick won that seat. Edmund was just every other role 😉

Ответ для Hazel Pinner

Come now, Blackadder kindly stepped in when the previous electorate very sadly, accidentally, brutally cut his head off while combing his hair.

Ответ для Croohur

Sensible policies for a happier Britain!

99 cones capped at 99p was one of @countbinface.bsky.social policies which is one I would vote for. And Ceefax returning is the sort of nostalgia we actually pine for 😂

Ответ для Dougie G

Exactly. Sensible policies Mind you need to set a size limit on the 99s or they'll shrink. Years ago at BT the unions negotiated that there would be a cheese roll in vending machines on the site I worked at for 9p. And there was. Just one each day and in a different machine each day.

Ответ для His Royal Huwness 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🐸🇵🇸🇪🇺

Yes perhaps a minimum cone size and volume of ice cream. Can be different for Mr whippy and soft scoop ice cream to maintain a sense of value for the consumer. I like you thinking on this

Ответ для Dougie G

Would it include monkey blood and sprinkles?

Ответ для Old Hobbit🐸

Those could be options at no cost 😂

Ответ для Old Hobbit🐸
W

Naturally, and vendors would not be allowed to call monkey's blood "flavouring".

Ответ для His Royal Huwness 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🐸🇵🇸🇪🇺

That’s the kind of petty childishness I miss from my union rep days!

Ответ для Dougie G

Ceefax should come back although not sure if the colour coded buttons are appropriate in the context of nostalgia.

Ответ для Old Hobbit🐸

Now that our TVs are connected to the internet and channels are digital it would probably work a lot better now. Channels could have their own pages with listings and other info and even sell holidays if they want 😂. I'm sure there is a way to make it work better than the coloured buttons too.

Ответ для Dougie G

Finally, sensible voter-friendly policies!

Ответ для His Royal Huwness 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🐸🇵🇸🇪🇺

He has a populist touch for sure, banning hydration breaks was funny. But he’s also smart, promising to lower your taxes but raise other people’s is pertinent social commentary 🙂

Wait, is Lord Binface still a thing? I honestly thought it (he?) was a one-off joke from like 2010.

Ответ для Ermengarde Gersberms 🏳️‍🌈♠️

Asked a woman on the doorstep how she had voted. Then she yelled for her partner to come and tell me how he’d voted. With a grin he said Binface! We all had a good laugh.

They first stood in 2017(as lord buckethead) count bin face first showed up in 2019

Ответ для Ermengarde Gersberms 🏳️‍🌈♠️

He's on Bluesky.

Ответ для Ermengarde Gersberms 🏳️‍🌈♠️

In fairness we had a whole pandemic between then and now, during which time lost all meaning

Ответ для Harry Ord

Oh it's so much older that that - it started in 1987, when a previous incarnation stood against Thatcher. Here goes - Buckethead there on the far left at the Finchley count

Ответ для Ermengarde Gersberms 🏳️‍🌈♠️

Count Binface is always with you. Like the force.

Ответ для Ermengarde Gersberms 🏳️‍🌈♠️

Not only is @countbinface.bsky.social still a thing, they absolutely should still be a thing forevermore. The fox too 🗑️🦊

Ответ для Ermengarde Gersberms 🏳️‍🌈♠️

They have now become part of the constitution, their role is a kind of memento mori to remind all politicians of how ridiculous they actually are.

Ответ для Ermengarde Gersberms 🏳️‍🌈♠️

Shame. Shame! @countbinface.bsky.social

Ответ для Ermengarde Gersberms 🏳️‍🌈♠️

If we accept that Lord Buckethead and Count Binface are basically the same thing, they first stood in 1987 against Margaret Thatcher.

Ответ для Buntline

oh wow, so thats the original Buckethead who sued this century’s Buckethead forcing him to become Binface?

Ответ для Jay Fee

I believe the 80s and 90s politics Buckethead flew under the pre-Internet radar of the original film Buckethead, but when a new politics Buckethead appeared in the 2010s he was cease-and-desisted into the Binface metamorphosis. And that is a sentence that has never been written before 🤣

Ответ для Buntline

*chefs kiss* …Sky news accidentally interviewed Binface on their live broadcast because their supercilious reporter had never heard of him 🤭 Binface gave him a verbal mauling on live tele, it was delicious to watch 😁

Ответ для Buntline

omg John Oliver just called him ‘Darth Trashcan’ 😂🤣💥 perfect!

Elgar swells.

This is the choice we're offered in capitalist democracy.

Makes more sense than most of what's happened in politics in the last 20 years

I'm with Quentin Crisp on this one. " The purpose of government is to build a walled garden within which anarchy can grow"

Drummer from Angine de Poitrine announces they're entering their "heavy metal" phase.

Ответ для B1nky Ⓥ

My Brain, Immediately: “That’s Klek and Khn’s weird cousin.”

Hopefully he’s not out next PM

well if you didn't know who that was on the left it is Count Binface if it gets the younger people into politics that's what really matters right Burnham seemed very happy there

Wondered what PBW meant.

I’m going to need y’all to cool it on the PM turnover. It’s very hard to keep up from the US.

Ответ для Jack Frazee

Hey, the last one had a halflife time significantly surpassing a lettuce. That's kinda a record.

Ответ для Mael Jade 🏳️‍⚧️

Appointed in September, she governed for 49 days. On the 14th October, the Daily Star predicted that the PM would not outlast the shelf-life of an iceberg lettuce. She didn't, resigning on the 20th October.

Ответ для Jack Frazee

Just to be clear, we can *absolutely* handle it if you want to change Presidents a bit more often.

Ответ для Paul Mainwood

Yeah… one can dream. 😔

Britain at its finest!

“There are other candidates out of shot but that’s not important right now” was such a cherry to top with on the alt text

Britland is a very unserious place

Do not besmirch @countbinface.bsky.social He is a treasure and I will never countenance besmirchments.

This new Toy Story about middle aged Andy looks shit

We no return to the important issues. "Who will be the new Doctor?"

Ответ для Wolf Baginski

now you know who the new Doctor is going to be it's Billy they can't turn back on that one You have to ask which one's the next after Billie Piper LOL and you would have made a great SL fox there

It's just so funny I hope we never change

Can we have one of the other two for a change? I reckon it's time we gave them a chance, can't be any worse than whatever *this* is.

There is evidence this is an age-old custom that British politicians adopted from other cultures

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

1919 image of the Moscow west by-election. The furry was later sentenced to 832 years in a Siberian gulag. The bin man is rumoured to be Trotsky

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

Talleyrand (concealed under bin) and Napoleon

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

And the fox was showing the casus beli against Britain.

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

GenAI sucks and if you use it so do you

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

No bit is worth looking like this much of a dickhead, but especially not this one

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

Thank you for your commitment to this concept. "Talleyrand (concealed under bin)" made me properly laugh.

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

Laughing so much at this.

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

No need for artificial machine generated images, actual reality beats it hands down.

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

Stop with the Ai slop you dense cunt.

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

At the very least, switch to a slop generator that doesn't put everything through a piss-yellow filter. thanks

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

Brilliant!

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

That was a good first post. I got a sensible chuckle from it. But tragically, you continued.

The word дикую has a wrong ending.

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

The wonder of this image is that artificial ‘intelligence’ may now suppose this happened

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

That is Moosorshchik, "man of bin", later purged by Stalin, "man of steel".

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

If the GOP had gone for Refuse J Binface III rather than Illinois lawyer Abraham Lincoln in 1860, the world might have been very different, especially given the events of April 14th 1865 at Ford's Theatre. That 10mm ball fired by John Wilkes Booth would have just bounced off Binface's head.

Why not? Just because there are terrible uses of AI doesn't mean there aren't some perfectly good ones.

Ответ для Stanley Pignal
Ответ для Stanley Pignal

No. There aren’t not at the costs associated with it. The “acceptable,” are so minor they could be done with far less resources. But you have to engage with an engine that poisons its communities to do it.

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

Would me getting AI to write articles based on your corpus of work be a "perfectly good use". Because effectively that's what you've just done with others work. Of course the recursive nature of AI training is going to cause slop growth, but that'll be perfectly fine as well.

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

even if there were some good uses of the plagiarism engine that steals water and pollutes the air, creating three separate versions of the same bad joke wouldn't be one of them

Ответ для Samantha

the only thing where we agree is that yes, it is a bad joke.

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

Stan, there are some people in the replies saying these are AI. Is that right? Are you not an accomplished oil painter with a particular talent for historical pastiche who knocked these up overnight? Am beginning to wonder if anything is real.

Ответ для Alan Beattie

My lord some people. Even less fun than the X crowd.

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

The AI hysteria on here is getting exhausting. Big Luddite energy.

Ответ для Fabian

Yeah ok, "Fabian".

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

Ответ для the original Aloof Wife

dunno. it's a decent gag and, you know, I'm not going to hire an oil painter to make the pictures. also, there is roughly 0.00% chance anyone will think they are anything but AI-generated images for the purposes of a gag?

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

Not worth it. You're sacrificing any reputation to widely broadcast that you neither care about nor actually understand the critiques of genAI. Do you have a humiliation kink?

Ответ для the original Aloof Wife

thank you for your anonymous comments advising on my need for reputation management.

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

You're a cuck who doesn't understand art and artistic intent

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

It's not a decent gag, your post has no redeeming qualities and you should be embarrassed

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

back in the olden days of approximately three years ago, your only recourse if you wanted these pictures to exist would be to use Photoshop, whatever stock images you could find online, and your own gumption to make them. of course, that would require hard work and creativity, so it's impossible now

Ответ для avril

it's impossible in the sense that I was never going to spend 1.5 hours to design a crap version of a gag image. Even less so now that AI can make a much better version in 40 seconds, essentially for free.

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

Weak

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

The thing we're trying to convey is that it's not better. AI art is aesthetically awful on its own merits. You're probably able to notice it with bad AI writing, being a writer yourself. The same applies to images.

Ответ для Zobuzuzu

I'm sorry but these images are absolutely banger. They do precisely what I intended them to do, ie a clearly fake satirical derivation of a contemporary picture. I'm *obviously* not trying to pass it off as high art, or somehow accurate (Lenin standing next to a furry ffs) - that would be ridiculous

Ответ для Stanley Pignal

Fuck off with this slop

Up there with Vincent Hanna in Blackadder III and the infamous Dunny by the Wold by election.

Ответ для Paddy Magill

Ok but what about the robber button? And we need to hear from Colin.

Ответ для AJC

Oh no the most important person was 'the Voter' imagine the canvassing returns (because the actual vote didn't reflect the polling at all).

Ответ для Paddy Magill

One of my favourite comebacks is from that episode "Poo to you with knobs on!" So ridiculous, the 4th season rightly gets lots of love but I am very fond of the 3rd Blackadder season.

Ответ для AJC

After Pitt the even Younger, the retort 'what's next, Pitt the embryo?'

So funny !

Well if he gets into No10, I'll start doing what the Brits do best...start slagging off the PM as incompetent after a few weeks and demanding "change"! "Change" is good, frequent "change" even better, no chance for long term strategic vision and direction...🤷‍♂️🙄 Boo! We want "change"!

This why we're still the greatest nation on earth. Despite everything else.

one of the few things I still love about Britain.

Sigh. Next time, Lord Binface. Next time.

He's got a fursuit pal and a pedal bin

🤣🤣🤣 Very British though. If I'd lived in that constituency I'd have voted for the furry though.

Bins to the left of me Vulpines to the right Here I am

Ответ для Danny Allegedly

Nice of him to keep the foxes away from the bins...

My worry here is that the fox is going to go for the bin any second.

Bring back Screaming Lord Sutch …

Ответ для Brian D

This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea…

Is there a kofi or something so fox can get some paws?

Please tell me there's an interview with the guy on the right from local celebrity Hacker T Dog?

We haven’t lost our sense of humour. There’s hope for Britain yet.

Ответ для Pauline Stafford

I don’t think there is mate

I would welcome an American Monster Raving Loony party, instead we have a murderous Silly party and a "usually refuses to try to win" Slightly Silly party.

😆 sets the picture for the future doesn't it, a complete and utter joke of a future under Labour

Shaking their hands afterwards was the icing on the cake.

A+ alt text 😆👏👏 "There are some other candidates there just out of shot but that's not important right now."

Ответ для Beach Boy

I'd quite like if several other things about Britain changed rather a lot.

I'm all for the new cabinet😀

"and a man with a bin on his head" is a delightfully English way to describe that guy.

As long as they aren't wearing brown shirts and black boots, it's a win. Congrats on today's election outcome - here's hoping the UK can get a Labor PM whom people don't loathe.

This is the Britain that our enemies cannot understand.

Ответ для Casmilus

Ответ для Mario

I don’t think the British are meant to be understood, it’s like absurdist comedy.

Was "Keir Starmer, but looks ten years younger" anything anyone was absolutely hanging out for?

Ответ для TheGrimRecapper

Ever heard the expression "the grass is greener on the other side"? That's about sums up our situation now.

They should just elect Count Binface at this point. Couldn’t be any worse than they’re last…uh …all PMs.

1. That seems like a good thing. 2. The pictures other commenters have dreamed up are AWESOME THANKS GUYS!
