If he made a sequel it would surely be an epic fail.

It's cheaper to scan books destructively, but absolutely not necessary to destroy them. There are plenty of book scanners available that don't.

First of all, they deliberately broke copyright for many if not most of their scanned books. Secondly, the contract workers could only work for 3 months because it was felt the conditions were so mind-numbing that longer periods would be unsustainable. I toured a facility and saw it for myself.

Ugh. The Google Books project may have been horrible 15 years ago, but at least they didn't destroy the books they scanned.

Even if successful I bet it has no real impact on Anthropic, probably just damages and some licensing fees, but you never know.

This is the saddest part. Ripping off the ultra-wealthy with a long con is not only profitable but almost justifiable. Ripping off poor working people for peanuts is both pathetic and loathsome. And yet the working class are the primary targets of the depraved.
