Weird - I try to avoid runners as they’re extremely dull people

I had to give up my favorite pub because a guy that wouldn’t take a no went there at my usual time. I still miss that place.

I wear big-ass headphones when I walk / hike. Partly I like to listen to music or a podcast. Partly I want to make sure anyone else out there knows I’m listening to something, so they don’t talk to me. I can read lips well enough to return a “hey, good morning!”, and just keep on moving.

People - don't interrupt runners unless it's a genuine emergency. They are in the zone, it's the best time they'll have all day, and they are absolutely not going to go out with you if you kill that buzz.
