What's the deal with the east of England that embraces these vile policies? Essex? Kent? Lincolnshire? Norwich? Is there something in the water on that side of the country that turns a sizeable portion of the electorate into dribbling racists?

This is just a personal view - not scientific. I travel from Manchester to visit a relative in Norwich. Norwich is a vibrant City, with a Green Council. As you travel to get to it across the Fens you realise how far removed from Norwich it is. The journey takes you to poor villages & towns.

There are very few brown people in Norfolk. The majority of Norfolk hates Londoners coming down here with all their money and buying houses. They are the most insular on an inward and backward looking island. ,

Newsquest decided that political analysis is just something other people do; instead it has never asked Lowe a single difficult question and actually fanboyed him with front pages such as this:

Possibly think about rewording comment? Glancing at figures I saw Labour on 11%. It took a good second look to realise you meant Restore on 10.9%

11% feels about right for where we are now. 500 brown people/genocide survivors drowned the other day, a very long way away, and most comments on Reach plc celebrated that fact, while wishing there had been more. This undiluted racism would not have been the case 10 year ago. We have to get that.

11% for Restore is still a concern, and their numbers will increase if Farage does not return and all the mainstream racists try to find a home.

It may be Reform and I take no pleasure in that but Colin Sutton was a distinguished ex Met detective who was part of major investigations. Still the posts of PCC are to be abolished in the local government reforms.

The creation of standalone PCC's was a stupid and irrespensible act that brought in these risks. The ropad is littered with failed, dodgy and wacky PCC's . No one knows who they are or what they do . As deputy Mayors that's more logical

Farage and Reform enabled unpleasant forces, which potentially they would not be able to control further on. And, there is now potentially scope for Reform to be destroyed by Restore, a much nastier version of them. Politically, similar to the German SA (Brownshirts) being superceeded by the SS.

I agree. But do you think people know what Restore really are? It feels like there hasn’t been enough discussion of their true nature. I feel like the NF in the 70s got a lot more proper exposure for the Nazis they were than Restore have had.

As a Norfolk voter who for about the first time in my life didn't bother to vote (yes, feeling guilty) please don't read too much into this. The Labour PCC stepped down for family issues. The whole thing was due to disappear in the local govt reorganization. 1/2
