I have known Le Porge since I was a child. Much of it is now ash. We were warned this would come. We kept burning fossil fuels anyway. Adapting to this is not a plan. Stopping the cause is.

Yes that has to return - that's the step where my parents got started. But that starts with Local Authorities. LA's have not had the resource to fund building due to Central Govt constraints. That is why greater devolution is required.

As a Manc (tho no longer living there - but returning often) Manchester has made great strides in the last decade, its not about expensive apartments & towers. Investment has gone in and that helps prosperity. He worked with Chris Boardman to create cycle networks & Steve Coogan in my hometown

I'd prefer to see it as a first step to a more radical ELECTRIFICATION programme - one that leaves fossil fuels as dirty, dangerous & expensive. This has to be a collaborative effort by ALL progressives - to offset the the parties who are puppets for bid oil.
