I used to do that. Then I just lay the knife on the butter lid in the fridge instead.

That ONE time you put it in the sink and wash it, and you are super hungry after you eat and need more, but it's already been washed so you don't want to dirty it up again. It happens. I get you.

I do that very often with coffee-making spoons. How often? There are normally about 4 of them on the sink, sometimes many more.

My mom does this all the time. I've explained to her that I own a dishwasher and lots of utensils. She neither needs to wash dishes nor worry about running out of them. Child of the depression. She's not used to living with plenty.
