Data Centers are not "job creators." They are resource extractors, siphoning off our water and power.

Does Pepperidge Farms also know what/who helps create demand for data centers? bsky.app/profile/dumm...
Føø 🥋"Data centers are evil" has been trending on Tiktok. Tiktok sits on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)...for one... Thank you for coming to my TED talk #datacenter #irony newsroom.tiktok.com/announcement...
Good point, good meme! Als, even the "job creators" needs to be picked apart. bsky.app/profile/mich...
NoDr. Michiel 🇳🇱 NoPhD.Creating jobs is a PR line. It's also a false reward because jobs are valueless assets to promise, their transactional nature ensures it. Bread on the table, purpose, community, using our ability to create and transform, to belong, etc: that's where the value is. 1/2
One thing we should all know by now is they don’t care about water quality or ecosystems. To trust the money behind data centers to do the right thing is laughable giving what we see now. www.datacenterknowledge.com/cooling/turn...

Bitey* * * * * Mandate that big AI build their own clean power and sell excess back to the state at only generation cost for every new DC before approval * * * * * It's a functional path to extend the social contract in a way that powers public transit (and other things in that state) going forward.
She is in the case!!! Nobody wants AI…we want healthcare and affordable housing and food and the food not infest with parasites and salmonella!!! And let’s throw in renewable energy for shits and giggles!!
They want to use an old industrial building. They tore up almost the whole parking lot, leaving 10 parking spots. When pushed, the company admitted that there would be around 5 actual employees. FIVE. And they try & pass these gluttonous monsters as job creators, while pinky promising to not use🤣🤣🤣2/
This is a good explanation of why they don’t actually add value to the cities that are currently giving them tax breaks and free water. But everyone has FOMO so they’re all just giving AI companies what they want.
