Saying we should all go back to physical media I think misses the point. I actually *like* buying games and movies digitally for a bunch of reasons. What we need is better consumer protections so the things we do buy digitally are actually owned and companies cant delete/revoke access!

The fact they did both of these so soon after each other really does signal how little this companies give a shit any more about our opinion, instead assuming that we’re either idiots or can simply force their will on us with arguments that shit like this was “inevitable”.

Went "I can't even afford it, but $800 for a 4TB SSD is probably a good deal, I bet you they're gonna double the price on me". Not 3 days later Sony Says they're not making Discs anymore & the price went vertical. What next, VHS? Are punch cards going to go up in price?

Sony operates thier own disc-pressing factories in Japan (Sony Music Solutions) and Austria (Sony DADC). Sony also operates their own vinyl factory in Japan. For a company that can just press their own discs, and then bring back a format like vinyl, this is just sad and kind of frustrating.
