There’s only 6 hours left to vote in today’s primary elections. Only 20% of voters in King County have turned in their ballot so far. Boomers are out voting Gen Z by almost 5 to 1.

This is a good outcome. The email announcing it includes Sue Rahr saying "I admire the mayor for acting decisively to move forward and rebuild strong and engaged leadership." It all worked out! No messy fight! The chief needed to go and has. Mayor Wilson got it done!
Amy SundbergConfirmed: SPD Chief Barnes has resigned. Current Deputy Chief Andre Sayles will serve as interim chief. Sayles only joined SPD last year after serving as Chief of the Police in Beloit, Wisconsin.

Barnes is currently calling around the police department to tell his captains. Still waiting on confirmation from mayor's office and SPD.

Beth DayHere's the data again, for schools that are just under or over the 40% threshold for free school meals. As I said before, this is recalculated EVERY YEAR, so schools can qualify one year and not the next based on very small population changes.
btw AMR is the ONLY councilmember who has pointed out that we could easily take this $3m out of SPD funds and they wouldn't even notice. That is literally the whole debate and every single one of them has elided that fact but one
