It's entirely possible that the Times/Brandi Kruse/City Council will start demanding Katie Wilson's resignation next week, which the public does not want, and would not support. But the anti-Wilson group is so deep in a bubble that I don't think they understand how strong the backlash would be.

Now this is an excellent, fair, independent story covering the events this week in a way that is comprehensive and informative. TV and corporate media could learn something from this!

This whole thread. The Times, the TV reporters, and the Council are understating public support for the mayor, are overstating support for their anti-Wilson cause, and are dangerously encouraging insubordination in the ranks.

That press conference was wild. The corporate media was really out to get Mayor Wilson. It was unseemly.

Indeed. Their editorial is all about“how do we make Katie Wilson look bad?” rather than “how do we keep Seattle safe?” It’s essentially a PAC running a campaign to hound her from office. But Wilson has steel. And they underestimate her public support.

Sound Transit says that with existing funding and cost estimates, it will take until 2060 to get rail to Ballard. They believe that if all new funding needed is secured by 2033, and cost savings achieved, they can get to Ballard by 2042.

The other thing about this presser is the media is so clearly wanting to make Wilson look bad. They ask why miscommunication happened on Sunday. The answer is right in front of them - Chief Barnes failed - but they want to pin it on Wilson instead.

Yep, this is what a lot of Seattleites think about our mayor. She's got her critics, any mayor will, but she's got a lot of support out there too.

Some mods on the Seattle City Council seem eager to score points against Mayor Wilson. Did they forget that just last week the *entire city* lit them up for opposing her on universal free school meals? 6 of them are up for re-election next year. Voters don't want them picking fights w/ the mayor.
