That being said I don’t even think I believe in gender differences but then I also feel them deeply within myself so I don’t know I’m just a random stranger on the internet don’t listen to or put any stock in what I say when I’m bored & alone in my bed.

My take on COVID "lockdowns" (really, state and local decisions in the face of a killer plague) is that yes they were bad for children and this is an additional reason why it was morally repugnant when huge segments of the population refused to help with social distancing. Shame on you all.

Anyone who has worked in healthcare will never forget the horrors we have experienced through the pandemic. No amount of lying or gaslighting can ever erase that.

My wife's unit was converted to a COVID rule-out and pre/post ICU unit, and she got prioritized for vaccination. We kept the kids home the '20-21 school year specifically because *we* didn't want to be a disease vector into the schools. All this post-pandemic discourse makes me *furious*

It's hard to overstate how ISOLATING and scary it was with a child under 5 waiting for that under 5 vaccine. The world was kind of moving on and you not only couldn't, you had to be scared for your child every day

Another wild argument of that time is that by not going back to work in person, teachers were harming working women… when most teachers are also working women. The class lines were very clear on that one: they were talking about upper class working women, not the ppl who care for their kids & homes

Lockdown people are so funny. They pull out their hair at the fact that schools were closed for five minutes, and then you ask them if they actually want to educate poor and minority children and they’re like of course not

Yes lockdown was really tough for kids. Lots of those kids are teenagers now so maybe as a thank you our establishments could stop deliberately making even more things worse for them due to a weird systemic hatred of our own youth
