The director at our preschool does a lot more intentional (boundaried) negotiation with kids, if it's not a health and safety thing. Which I like. I'm trying my best to follow that modeling these days, but definitely still there are times where we count to three and then I make the choice.

Like, one month we'll be trying to launch a community coalition and the next it's, how do we keep the org we represent alive so we can even be an entity participating in this coalition? It's exhausting

I don't have any easy solutions, either. In my community we are absolutely clawing to keep afloat the institutions that we need to hold each other together and keep our networks alive. It feels like treading water on some days and slow drowning on others.

My theory is that a lot of activism-organizing folks have pretty much hunkered down and locked in on managing local community survival stuff. There is such a sustained assault on access to food, childcare, etc on a local level that those fights have occupied us. Which is the assault's purpose
