They’re all going to come crawling back lol
Stan OklobdzijaFor federal elections, splitting the GOP into two competing crank Nazi movements would be great for Democrats. At the state/local level, however, we'd be condemning large portions of the South and Midwest to governance by Crossfit George Wallace's.

This is worth amplifying (also this podcast is rad), that Roman slavery was, y'know, slavery. In fact, all slavery is horrifying, but the broader 'Mediterranean' slavery tradition (which is also, by the by, the ancestor of Atlantic slavery) is one of the *more extreme* such traditions.
Claire E. AubinNext time someone tries to tell you that Roman slavery was different or better than other forms of slavery, tell them to listen to last week’s episode of @thisguysucked.com and/or buy Emma’s book.

Ppl being shitty in the replies here are just miserable wreckers who are more interested in winning social media arguments than actually seeing Republicans lose control of congress.
MeidasTouchA gracious concession: “I want to congratulate Abdul El-Sayed on winning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. He is a doctor, a community health official, a Rhodes Scholar, and a dedicated Michigander. I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election…

Its good actually when Democrats come together after a primary and acknowledge that Republicans are actually the real threat and should be kept out of office at all costs.

There is absolutely a faction on here whose dream scenario is for The Libs to all vote against AES so they can do a bunch of “I thought it was VBNMW????????” takes. The thing is that they’re as tiny and irrelevant as the people doing that

Yes, we 100% saw it with Mamdani last year where the fact that a lot of Cuomo voters/NY Establishment Dems came over after the primary made them furious bc it wrecked their narrative that Dems actually hated the guy & a vote for him was a vote to stick it to the Democratic Party

Something I've noticed is that there's a section of the left who've been desperate to find a way to prove VBNMW people are hypocrites. They thought they had it with Fetterman, they thought they had it with Mamdani.

The problem is that as we're seeing with the Strait of Hormuz, "the USA forfeits its global ambitions" does not lead to a new age of peace and sunshine, but to global recession and instability. The Strait of Hormuz is not the only load-bearing instance of US power backstopping modern economies.
tupolev22mI think the traditional answer is actually "forfeit your global ambitions because you can't afford them and voters won't make the sacrifices necessary to restore them," unfortunately

Who knew ridiculously long deployments and demanding op tempos run a ship and crew into the ground!
Patrick ChovanecKeeping people constantly deployed has a mounting cost. www.ms.now/news/conditi...

Beginning to feel like I need to budget a week on the blog for a military primer on 'how the US Navy is the load-bearing pillar of your ability to eat bananas and of folks in developing countries to eat at all.' Not saying that is an optimal situation, merely that it is the situation.

It gets an actual chuckle out of me seeing people on here say "now the TRUE test is whether the shitlibs can live up to their own words and line up behind El-Sayed!" only for Stevens, Whitmer, every prominent Michigan Dem, the DSCC, etc. to have endorsed El-Sayed before they can finish the sentence.

This is the exact opposite of the truth. It's been clear for a long time that for the Leftists and so-called "Progressives", this "Vote Blue No Matter Who" ONLY applies if THEIR candidate wins. Them getting a taste of their own hypocritical medicine now SHOULD be a wake-up calls, but it's not.

Stevens/Schumer/Gillibrand have already endorsed AES. It’s not disarmament. You are not at war with the people who agree with you.

Even when your preferred candidate wins you still play the victim. Tell me, how is this any different from MAGA?
