Something I find extremely tiresome is that people whose news diet consists entirely of screenshots of memes and social media posts think they are more informed than people who pay for and consume actual, edited news. Like, the media has issues, sure, but I guarantee I know more than you. Sorry!

Ask this person in the screenshot if their dream is also a hemispheric common market with open trade and open borders, and when they say yes, then ask them to Google who also said that was their dream.

People really seem not to understand that this witch hunting and dogpiling is going to end with brands and people simply using AI and not disclosing it. If you attack and punish people for transparency, the result isn’t going to be less AI. It’s going to be less transparency.

You cannot, out of one side of your mouth, argue that government can and should help people by passing laws that compel the wealthy and big business to pay their fair share for the general well being while also saying shit like this out of the other side. Pick a side. Laws matter or they don’t.

These people are just not ready for prime time. This shit may or may not help/hurt them in their own races, but the fact is, this absolutely hurts the Democratic Party brand. Having someone flounder while defending terrible positions to a large audience that includes swing voters is enraging.

I feel like it maybe should be a moment for reflection for people on this app that I am not sure if the person to do this is more likely to be a deranged BlueSky user or an ICE agent.

60 Democrats with whom I only agree like 75-80% of the time is worth way, way, way more to me than 49 Democrats I agree with 100% of the time. And I feel that way about basically every issue. And honestly, if you don’t agree, I really am not sure you understand how all of this actually works.
