I don't wish we could schedule gun violence, personally

On Thursday, ICE needlessly detained Eduardo Aguirre Esparza, a local Seattle small business owner with no criminal history. This is a man who is married to an American citizen and with deep ties to our local community who was working hard to pursue a legal pathway to lawful permanent residence.

But, my efforts are nothing compared to the people power of our volunteers! We had 20 people canvassing for us this weekend, and we hit well over 1000 doors. Nothing beats people power! @ourcommonpower.bsky.social @yourcityseattle.bsky.social @theurbanist.org

Ouch! It hurt then too but we didn’t fall as far or as hard. Give yourself a minute or a couple of days to get better.

The shooting is impacting so many people. Carve out time at work and in community to look after one another…. This is a collective trauma that will disproportionately impact people and communities already impacted by gun violence.
