Having kids has made me more anti-car than childless me could have imagined.

There are zero "anti-car activists" (the term being thrown around today) who believe that vital services such as emergency response and sanitation shouldn't be done with vehicles. The issue is personal automobile ownership and the over-deployment of cars at the expense of nearly everything else.

Working on a story right now, trying to explain why cyclists actually *enjoy* their commutes. It's so far removed from the experience of the car-brained that it's very hard to get across.
