2 is bananas. Stunning. Impossible to implement and wildly unpopular. Among the many higher priorities: Prosecution of corruption (including, but not limited to, administration officials cronies), abolish ICE, court reform, shoring up Medicaid and SNAP, rebuilding fed govt, moving on solar, etc.

by definition, accepting a job with the second trump administration makes you unsuitable to do that job, regardless of your past behavior or accomplishments

FWIW: the BOE is objectively less independent than the Fed, but is still a credible independent central bank. That doesn’t mean moving the Fed to the BOE model would have no consequences though. Direction of travel matters as much as destination.

Saw this get a lot of play yesterday/this AM. FWIW, overnight Taiwan's MOE announced they had secured LNG supplies through end of May and had half of June procured already too. Cargoes go to where the bid is highest and Taiwan isn't in danger of losing that auction IMO.
