Far from it, the giant squid population in the Gulf of California has collapsed, which has led to sperm whales leaving the Gulf or starving to death. The open ocean is really really empty, and the collapse of squid populations is causing serious problems for the whale populations that depend on them

If you want to hear a Cachalot hunting a squid - You'll have to put up with the rather vociferous Humpack in the foreground but, in the background, is a Cachalot, hunting in Monterey Bay. One of the few places in the world you can see both species in the same location. freesound.org/people/MBARI...
