What a lot of people didn't realize about the 20th century was that "the media controls the narrative" was not always (or even often!) a bad thing. Like yeah sure people should get their own information about whatever, but...they don't, and they won't, and it's important to recognize that!

Fitting that the Forstater ruling doesn't say what they claim it does, and the FWS ruling doesn't say what they claim it does, and the Cass Report doesn't say what they claim it does, and

@goatsarah.org's had a very neat way of encapsulating this problem for the last ten years or so: anti-trans campaigners have won the media "air war". Media coverage is far more influential than winning on the ground on its own.

How can these people feel any kind of honesty in their work, when they are forced to continuously apply vile tactics, so that they appear as valid and distract from the failures and inconsistencies? How? How can you lie to yourself so much?

The enemy must be, at the same time, too strong and also too weak. The victory over them must be framed as inevitable and sensible.

Losing multiple high profile -and v expensive- lawsuits and then *just pretending you won them*, is the kind of dogbrained manouvre that sounds too stupid to work. Luckily for transphobes, the UK press have failed to spot this, or mention that it happens quite a lot. Probably nothing to worry about.

They present themselves as winning everything but also the brave rebel fighters taking on the corrupt and infiltrated establishment who seeks to crush them, and honestly, one fucking lie at a time, please.

The best one of these was the NHS Fife tribunal where the spin that they won was so extreme that everyone from LOTO to the BBC had to walk back their celebrations & claims (respectively) of victory when they realised they actually lost on most of the substantive grounds. Hilarious day.
