This is still an issue, and I just found out I will need major dental work in the coming months, most of which will not be covered by the NHS.

Dental emergency update: I have a dental abscess and the tooth is unsalvageable. It’s next to an existing gap where I never had a permanent tooth at all, and I can’t afford implants. I’m already nearly £3k in debt and I’m on benefits and unable to work due to disability. Hah!

Bumping this. Need urgent dental care, likely will need to pay out of pocket for proper white filling. Also! Still in debt!! Seriously, I know I’m not around on socials a ton but part of that is that between money stress and schizophrenia, I don’t have much left to do more than sorta hang on.

I also had to buy new glasses today, and despite qualifying for some discounts, I ended up paying about £130 for new frames, reglazing old frames, plus lens tinting to see if that helps with eye strain and migraines from too-bright light. Thank you to everyone who’s already helped 💙

While I’m here and thinking about SFF writing, I do think most of the conversation around how worldbuilding is “bad” and “mostly unnecessary” are missing the point; and defenders of worldbuilding are also missing the point. The issue is writing without thinking about what exactly you’re saying.

I’ve been having additional trouble walking for the past two or so months; this means extra expenses — grocery delivery, taxis or buses even for short distances, etc. and I could really use help with £££ for May! Oh, and I’m still technically in the red for council rent, as I’m paying in arrears after losing about 3 weeks’ worth of Housing Benefit when they switched me from irESA to UC. I just don’t have the savings or the resources to pay 2 month’s rent at once, even if only the one time.
