At the very least, trans advocacy organisations should have been consulted on this change. They weren't. This change is being done by cis people, on behalf of cis people only. You claim there is a "clash of rights", but our human rights weren't even considered. bsky.app/profile/nata...

I would also like to see @robfordmancs.bsky.social’s response to this. It looks to me like the Sullivan Review did not approach any UK national trans-led organisations for this.

This is yet another hideous indignity forced on trans people by the Labour Party. I will never ever forgive them as long as I live. They are an absolute cesspit of transphobic bigotry and are destroying trans people’s lives

Elizabeth Taylor

Ok, now I’m panicking this is absolutely horrific a violation of trans people’s human rights. I’m actually crashing out, and now don’t never if I even feel safe enough to ever have a hospital appointment again

1/🧵 This is particularly bad because it also implicitly discourages recording gender identity and data exchange to maximise outing-in-fact, while presenting it as preventing outing-at-law. This is designed to harm trans people and will lead to excess mortality.

No it isn't because it makes it mandatory to put "sex observed at birth" on your shared record which will out you, whilst claiming that doing so won't out you as long as they don't also say your gender. Compare previous and current hazard log. This is genuinely very bad.
