I seem to remember that large parts of our study materials, and the tests we did, were specifically about Electronic Point Of Sale machines and how they worked. The primary use case of a computing GCSE - in 2002! - seemed to be knowing how to fix supermarket registers and cashpoints.

I was a tech-savvy teen - my dad was a PC hobbyist who had us building servers and LANs from the age of 12 - and my GCSE classes in ICT (the term IT hadn't been adopted yet!) were hilariously outdated. In 2002, our textbooks still said "one day, five million people will be using electronic mail".

Any time I read a story like this, I immediately scroll down to see if my favourite true crime trope - the absurdly incriminating search history - gets featured. I can confirm that this one does not disappoint.

It's hard to overstate how catastrophically self-defeating the anti-woke comedy thesis is. It's taking a stand against small plate dining on the grounds that the portions are too small, by opening up restaurants which serve even smaller plates of much worse food.

The problem with anti-woke comedy is that it has one (1) good critique: *some* lib comedians aren't funny, they just repeat their audience's values back to them. This is true! It's just that it's also true of *all* anti-woke comedy, which is intrinsically values-led and thus comedically stillborn.

This might be it. Finally, after all these years. The sentence that turns me into an axe murderer.
