Dating myself: I encountered its early form in Analog. My stash was boosted in the summer twixt Frosh-n-Sof long ago. In the before time. Had I been conscripted then, maybe I’d be getting back about now. A FAVORITE!

Bonkers, is what I'd go. Read Mr Haldeman translated to Swedish when I was about about fourteen. LOVED the Forever war. Read it two times in a row and was banned to borrow it a third time by our librarian. "Read something else this time". LOL She suggested "The Shining". Good librarian, eh?

I was JUST telling my daughter about "The Forever War" this afternoon! The story remains relevant and compelling 50 years later, and it's still one of my favorites. I am forever grateful to my friend who shared it with me 40 years ago. Thanks, KMP.

Hey, I read that last year, and loved it so much, that I read it again for a local book challenge!!! It's probably my all time favourite book at the moment. Haldeman packs a LOT of action and worldbuilding in just 260 pages. He's incredibly efficient as an author! I liked Forever Free as well.
