My sister's opposition to Trump alienated her from her church & got her shunned. When she died, I was afraid she was going to be laid to rest without a minister. An actual Christian minister who knew her, traveled to officiate at her service. Although I'm not a Christian, I will always be grateful.

Problem, especially in rural areas is denominational oversight of ministers. Ministers who train at major seminaries are challenged to defend their beliefs against theological and historical sources. Conservative ministers attend Conservative seminaries where dogma is encouraged.

I don't understand the conflict here. Christianity has always been one of the most brutally violent oppressive religions in the history of humanity. The way that Christians convert is at the point of a sword. it is a religion obsessed with death. where is the contradiction?
