Why not blame AI? Computer output is only as good as human input. Just look at DOGE, for example. Teens lacking life experience destroyed generations of data integrity, putting personal identities and security at risk. Machines have no morality, but programmers make choices that have consequences.

AI error sounds worse because that would mean they couldn't be bothered to double-check on something where literal lives are on the line. Especially considering that, so far, AI has been notoriously wrong.

Someone humane made the decision to follow the recommendation(s) made by a soulless AI in the first place. Someone made the initial inputs to get those suggestions. Someone needs to be held responsible, or there will be a new excuse: "I was just following the suggested AI solutions."
