Ok, what was her methodology then? Because translations are also art - so she must have used some metric to review the art form of film. What I took from it was her art was better than Nolan's.

My point is if you love art (and I do) reviews are fine (and I have my favorite critics like Hornaday), but ultimately it is 100% subjective. And if "accuracy" is your most important quality, documentaries are probably best for you.

Wilson's methodology seems to be "was it faithful to my translation of the material?" Ok, fair enough. But a lot of good film (or TV) based on a book, a myth, or whatever is not faithful to the material - and is still great art.

I don't know if the film is good or not, but filmmaking is an art. Translation is an art. An artist in one area does not automatically have an artistic understanding of another area. Ann Hornaday has an actual methodology for film review: what was the artist's vision and did they achieve it?
