Jack was proud to take a stand against fascism. He, along with Brian Clough, was a sponsor and founding member of the Anti-Nazi League, signing the organisation’s founding statement in 1977.

I think it’s in part a generational thing - in a way he’s the first (or maybe second after Best) real ‘soccer superstar’, think of how few interviews on anything people like Charlton or Moore did compared to him. By the 80s ‘allowed’ to have a view you weren’t - as a player - earlier.

I wasn't much into football in my youth, apart from some key FA cup finals, mainly so's I could talk to the boys! Keegan was special though, and very fanciable.

😃 Something I think we all aspire too! As a Scot, growing up with the usual hatred/rivalry with England, I found KK to be IMPOSSIBLE to dislike. His enthusiasm, decency and the will to use every bit of his supposed "Limited" talent 🙄 He was the example I always used to inspire my son.

I hadn't heard that from a British person before. It worked for me, because Kevin Keegan was my idol at the time. Never was told whether or not Kenny Dalglish ate haggis, though.
