I need to chime in here. That act could hurt the Rs more than the Ds. Married woman who have taken the husband's name won't be able to vote. Statistically more R women do that as compared to D women. Which means more R voters will be disenfranchized than D voters.

I'm going to guess a lot of voters in Alaska don't have "official" Birth Certificates and getting verified citizenship would be very difficult. Reporting has likely improved over the years but middle age and Seniors might not have officially recorded Birth Records.
