I stand with trans and non binary people. This is a difficult and scary time - and the Govenrment must reject the framework. It's vital that everyone is treated with dignity and care and far too often trans and non binary people aren't. Solidarity always 🏳️⚧️

♥️ Appreciate the anger and disappointment going round, and others will certainly have questions to answer. FYI, in addition to Carla's known absence, Hannah was here at the time: bsky.app/profile/tgps...

dignity and care? we can't eat dignity, Zack. dignity will not protect us from segregation. dignity does not undo the historical parallels of the moment we are living through. dignity does not serve. it does not suffice.
it's Lazzie B! once again!! 😱As for validity, well. My 'preferred' pronouns, & my 'chosen' gender, and my 'dignity & respect' aren't much good on their own. I need HRT. I need access to civil society, without harassment & violence. I need legal recognition. I have material needs validity does not touch. It's a platitude.
Honestly I don't want dignity and care, to be honest Zack. This isn't about feelings, it's about legal protections. I want solid human and civil rights and protections, backed by strong, unequivocal legislation and robust, well-informed policing, including of hate speech in the press. #pride 🌈🏳️⚧️💚
You can make a powerful statement @zackpolanski.bsky.social by pointing out how labour has fulfilled every single tory promise about trans people but none of their own. Doing the oppositions manifesto is scandalous. bsky.app/profile/lyra...
Lyra 💕bsky.app/profile/lyra... Labour have fulfilled every single tory manifesto promise on trans people and have went further. They have not fulfilled any of their own manifesto's promises. This is really telling imo.

clearly fucking not..
Katie FennThe House of Commons yesterday debated the laying of the EHRC code of practice. Functionally, it didn’t do very much, there was no opportunity to dis-apply it, but it was an important opportunity to get oppositional voices into the media and build awareness. No Green MPs turned up.

Good. But where were our Green MPs yesterday? One of my local Labour MPs Nadia Whittome here doing the work one of them should have done. bsky.app/profile/2leg...
Claire McNab#NadiaWhittome MP calls on the #Starmer government to withdraw the #EHRC's Code of Practice, and instead legislate to amend the Equality Act 2010 to restore the #trans inclusiveness that was intended when it waa passed. 👍👏🍺 #transgender #LGBTQ #ukpol

👋🏼 Hi Zack Are you able to confirm that the party will issue an official statement condeming Labour's Trans+ segregation agenda and it's dangerous and discriminatory Code of Practice? bsky.app/profile/aliz...
Aliza Adi (she/her)I have thought about this from the Lib Dems, but I'm not going to comment until the @greenparty.org.uk releases a stronger, more historically accurate statement denouncing Labour's Trans segregation charter
They should keep Code that's been used since 2011 that says that those with protected characteristic Gender Reassignment use single sex facilities aligning with their lived sex by default. Can rarely be excluded if certain criteria met that's not based on prejudice and there's no less harmful way...
Agree previous Code took different approach. But post-Supreme Court, organisations need clear, lawful & humane guidance. My point isn’t “exclude trans people”; it’s if sex-based provision is permitted in some justified contexts, trans/NB people must have safe, dignified & genuinely usable provision.
That's all fair and good Zack but no members of the greens turned up when arguing against the new EHRC guidance. I would suggest watching this video by @daviemoo.bsky.social bringing this to light: vm.tiktok.com/ZNR7fJvgd/ Solidarity only works if you stand with us with actions, not words🏳️⚧️
