I dont read anymore because I made myself stupid after college, but this is true of what I do consume (competition reality TV). Pre-social media Survivor is *miles* better than post. It's not twists or 39/26 days, it's players being aware of how they will be talked about Reddit or Twitter

kind of a half-baked thought here but it's a shame criticism as a paid professional discipline has been sidelined by social media because it could point the way forward out of the internet madness-induced problem of writing that's crouched in what the author anticipates a comments section will say

A great example of how absurd US politics is is that Abdul El Sayed feels compelled to tell random people online to not make fun of Stevens' accent, but an actual elected official who is a Stevens supporter can say that Abdul shouldn't speak Arabic in public and Stevens won't condemn it.

Much as we should acknowledge Actually Existing DSA FoPo, lets not ignore Actually Existing Liberal FoPo. One of those ran the country and shipped $10s of billions of weapons to Israel during a genocide and the other is mostly online people LARPing or endorsing city counselor races.
