After 17 and a half years today is my last day working in the NHS. I've worked under 12 Health secretaries. Every single one made it harder for us to look after patients and pursued an agenda of privatisation and outsourcing. The NHS thrives in spite of, not because of it’s political leadership.

An underreported part of UK Transphobe Lawfare™ is that when they lose, they just... say they won. For all the regrettable sway they do have in courts/govt etc, their real power is in the press. So if they lose, they just pretend they didn't and their press friends print the lie. It's ubiquitous.

The NHS said it “consulted” about its transphobic changes to data. This presumably refers to the Sullivan Review. I asked every UK national trans-led organisation if they were contacted by The Sullivan Review, none reported that they had been.

I think the most depraved part imo is downgrading the risk of outing people and psychological harm from 'Major' to 'Considerable' No evidence, no explanation, based on nothing. Just Alice deciding that misgendering is Fine Actually.

So essentially the new version is saying that the risk of outing and misgendering is present, but not nearly as important as the risk created by not going solely on sex at birth. The only mitigation they offer is that you can just not have them record 'Gender identity' if they don't match up.

They've also added Hazard 37: Misinterpretation of Sex which essentially says sex specific screenings etc might be missed if sex at birth is not recorded ""correctly"". Hazard 17's risk also got downgraded from 'Major' to 'Considerable' while the new Hazard 37 is 'Major'.
