True, but I disagree with the conclusion. Given how far Yale has already gone down the hole—they named Chris Rufo(!) as a key source of "reforms"—they should cut a deal with Trump. It's better Yale formalizes its collapse than for us to pretend there's anything left beyond a façade of legitimacy.

"Universities like Columbia are not better off for having capitulated last year. They compromised their independence and suffered reputational damage, yet are still subject to [Trump's] arbitrary behavior." Read @ryanenos.bsky.social on need to resist Trump: www.bostonglobe.com/2026/07/27/o...

Right down to the stupidest details—the private jet rides, the sweetheart deals with prosecutors—the whole Tate thing recapitulates most of the Epstein story. Yet we have to pretend there's no way to know whether he would ever involve himself in the abuse of trafficked women and girls

The Bulwark

Despite years of accusations involving rape and sex trafficking, the Tates have enjoyed a strangely close relationship with Trump world that seems to have extended to preferential treatment from the government. ICYMI @willsommer.bsky.social:

Gaslighting people about the literal text of the Constitution and hoping they'll get lucky and SCOTUS will agree in order to cheat and harm nonwhite people is like, this administration's whole deal. It is exactly what you'd expect from a man once sued by the feds for racist housing discrimination.

Asha Rangappa

This story is indeed insane. They literally *discounted his correct answers* (on questions about the Constitution) so that a Trump supporting girl who wants to go to Hillsdale College could win $25K and be televised meeting Trump. So. Gross.
