Your community may be losing federal funds to fight HIV. The government is rerouting millions from frontline HIV prevention groups to state health agencies — which, experts say, can't get resources to high-risk groups as effectively. Read our full story here: 19thnews.org/2026/08/hiv-...

Do you think in Nazi Germany many Germans weren't happily living, going to church & school & parties & enjoying nice outings with their families, with good jobs & stable lives? And the Holocaust was happening. That who you are now if you ignore America's glaring, alarming fascism.

We rightfully talk about Ruby Bridges being the first Black child to integrate an all-white school in the South at 6-years-old. But we don’t talk nearly enough about Lucille Bridges, her mom ✨

AI once again solving problem that doesn't exist and creating new ones along the way. Food existed before AI. Cameras existed before AI. Now I question everything about this restaurant. Not only does the fake food look grotesque, but now I wonder what other corners they're cutting where I can't see.

Once you notice how culturally acceptable it is to just talk about people's bodies like they aren't attached to a person at all, you can't stop seeing it everywhere and it's infuriating.

This post was my introduction to Rod Liddle; I learned via cursory search that he is quoted as saying he couldn’t possibly teach high schoolers because he found them irresistibly attractive Not sure this is the guy to fly your flag for, Ben. Don’t disappoint your mom like this

Ben Goldacre

Sad to see people posting on social media negatively about Rod Liddle, who died yesterday. If I have disagreed with you very strongly in life - and you die - I hope I'll be either silent, or kind.

I don't need to see AI videos to know that China has an anti-African people problem. There isn't a single ethnic group alive that doesn't have to reckon with their anti-black racism.

whoo this sentence really jumped out <<In one case, The Washington Post ran a front page story advertising the location for white servicemen to meet and carry out further attacks on black people in the city.>>

I think today's liberals in the US are used to a social environment where pogroms are rare and don't realize the role armed self defense plays in that state of affairs www.history.com/articles/red...

IMO, they found a way to monetize everything and create panic. August was still summer for a bit, now it's just back to school and Halloween prep. Folks can't afford to rest. No 3rd spaces, no breaks for parents, and the simplest forms of enjoyment have a fee now (whether hidden or upfront) .

I remember when Summers were slow and easy. When did they get so busy?

Kinda like how childless people pay taxes for schools they don't use or how pedestrians pay taxes for roads they don't drive on, or how non readers pay taxes for library books they don't check out...

USA TODAY Opinion

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
