Imagine if you mailed the IRS a check to pay your taxes, but they left their mail unopened for years and then arrested you for failure to pay taxes. That’s effectively what ICE is doing to increasing numbers of people now; people out of status only because of GOVERNMENT delay.

The answer is always no, because the ask from the Trump Administration will always be poorly reasoned, often poorly lawyered, sometimes illegal, and usually anti-constitutional. Your agreement places other institutions at risk, and you will end up like the restaurant owner in Goodfellas.

Orwellian. An ICE agent shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. He had lived peacefully in this country for 35 years. The Trump regime then lied, claiming drugs were in his vehicle at the time he was killed. There were no drugs. They are murdering migrants - and trying to murder the truth.

It's striking how much more effectively this administration could engage in authoritarian thuggery if they didn't feel compelled to constantly throw red meat to their equally thuggish base by publicly confessing their improper motives.
Gabriel MalorFed. judge finds that Trump's DOJ—in particular AAG Harmeet K. Dhillon—was acting in bad faith and with unclean hands when it tried to bully Portland over ICE protests and the arrest of right-wing agitator Nick Sortor. In evidence: Dhillon's tweeting. www.courtlistener.com/docket/43658...
