this is a real thing that happens a lot and it’s a total misunderstanding of capitalism and i really wish that more loud and online anti-capitalists would take the time to understand what it is they think they’re against, most of them are wrong about what they think they’re fighting

Right, exactly. If your end goal is taxing our affluent middle-class to help the needy, you WANT TO HIGHLIGHT HOW PROSPEROUS THE POPULATION IS. Talking about how the median American is broke and miserable and can't afford anything is a great way to make the necessary transfers seem painful.

I think Zohran’s grocery stores are a worthwhile policy experiment. That said, the idea that people in food deserts eat less produce due to lack of access has been thoroughly debunked. The real problem is that low-income people can’t use SNAP for hot prepared foods.
