Yep, and they say otherwise (and some did, to me), but the soft anti vax stance of “we’re no safer now than March 2020” is silly.

And at least one “comparing covid to the flu is right wing anti vax nonsense” which sure, in 2020. The levels of deaths for both have evened out quite a bit now and while covid poses some risks the flu doesn’t, my only point was that they’re both here to stay.

I’m not trying to diminish people’s pain or experience by saying covid is endemic and we’re never getting rid of it. That’s just obviously true. Saying I expect someone with long covid to be comforted by that is risible nonsense.

Not surprised to get some people crawling all over this post and bringing followers down on it. I don’t really mind, and I’m blocking liberally. But getting some insistence that Covid is in fact not endemic, which is batshit IMO, and a fingers-in-the-ears reaction.

COVID has a lot more asymptomatic transmission and animal reservoirs than flu B did.

The link I posted characterized WHO as saying the pandemic phase is over. The definition of endemic is not at all the thing you said.

I think the thing is P2025 made it look like they’d used their time in charge to identify load bearing areas they could attack with a scalpel and even leaving DOGE aside, in practice Vought’s basically been hitting as much as he can with a sledgehammer.
